Tak for hjælpen
The date of this fine brooch has been suggested as late 14th century -15th century AD. Fede-rings are so called because of the two hands clasped in troth (faith). As a form these brooches can trace their origins back to the Roman period when the motif was more common on finger rings. As brooches fede-rings became very popular in the medieval period although complete examples are rare. Her er en mere text A copper alloy gilt annular brooch from the medieval period. The brooch has a diameter of 19.3mm and is 4.2mm thick. The frame is decoratively moulded into clasped hands at one side and a rose on two other sides. One rose is also the pin rest, and the final side is occupied by the hinge of the pin.
